Lei & Karen in Australia

Well, after a very good if long flight, we have landed. The weather is warm and balmy in Perth. It was nice to see the family even if only for a short time before we caught the next plane to melbourne. Just got into the hotel and slept. Its now Friday morning and I am slowly waking up although i have some jetlag!

This afternoon we will look around Melbourne - we are near to Captain Cook's original cottage from whitby so i think I'll mosey along and take a look.

In Melbourne the weather is overcast and dull although the temperature is not too cold. We go for the camper van tomorrow and start the trip with a drive down the Great Ocean Road.

We arrived in Perth on time and in fairly good shape on Halloween. Steve and Shirley were at the airport to meet us and after getting our bags, we all went to the hotel at Scarbough Beach where Carol, Danny, Emma and Christian also met up with us. Had a lovely time catching up with the family, and a great meal. On thursday, Emma and Christian went off to University and the rest of us explored some of the shopping areas around Perth while we waited for our flight to Melbourne.
Arrived in Melbourne about 9pm - very tired although the jet lag is starting to subside. Checked into our hotel in Melbourne and will spend a day exploring the city prior to starting our Motorhome adventure on Saturday.
